' Street pianist Vroni Holzmann is this year doing her 'Street Piano Tour of Europe' and has already played six countries. In Great Britain, France, Austria, Italy and Germany she has so far played Linz, Salzburg, Meran, Milan and Zurich amongst other towns.

Her next destination is Rosenheim on Wednesday, 16th of August, then Munich and Berlin, before travelling via Holland back to Edinburgh, her home town of choice. There she will give street concerts as part of the International Arts Festival.
Originally born in Rosenehim, she has been playing her small Steingraeber piano since 1999 in the streets and parks of many cities, and has been touring with it three times already. The special aspect of this project is the surreality to take a real piano out onto the street, with all its transport and loading difficulty and daring wind and weather.
For the artist it is important to bring the piano to the people without any amplification, and to bring the piano into a different concept from the classic 'concert'. Listening and financial contributions are all voluntary.
Vroni Holzmann plays Ragtime, Boogie Woogie and 'Stride', piano arrangements from the 1930s and 40s which were written and played by composers such as George Gershwin and Fats Waller. The piano is transported in a van. Tour supporters help with the loading and unloading and passers by will be asked to lend a hand, too.
Vroni will play the pedestrian zone in Rosenheim on Wed 16th of August from 14.00 to 17.00 pm. Her CD 'street piano boogie' is available at www.tradmusic.com. For more information send e-mail to info@streetpiano.com. '
